This project (Criminal Record Management System) is unique among all, because this is my B.Sc final year project along with Arkadyuti Das and Debabrata Adhikari under the supervision of Smt. Purabi Chowdhury.
Introduction
We see that when a group or society is formed, some rules and laws are made by the people, for the people, and to the people. The purpose of these rules and laws is to give a peaceful life to all who are living in that society. Whenever any law is violated by anyone, we say that crime is committed, and those who break the law are called criminals. To have a peaceful life, we need a well-organized law enforcement system. In our country, we have very good facilities in the law enforcement sector. But due to limited facilities, some work cannot be done in an efficient way.
Motivation
In modern days, crime is increasing day by day. To combat such crimes and provide safety to citizens, the police department plays a vital role. Arresting criminals who threaten society's safety is a critical responsibility. After registering the FIR from any citizen, police start investigations. After gathering all the evidence against the criminal, it is their duty to present the proofs honestly to the court so that justice can prevail. The true and accurate information provided by the people to the police significantly helps in arresting criminals who disrupt society's peaceful environment.
Despite their crucial role, the police department often lacks modern technology facilities, such as computerized systems for maintaining records, which leads to low efficiency. In the digital era, where computers are used to maintain records in every organization, the police department should also be equipped with such facilities. To enhance efficiency and save time, our project proposes a Criminal Record Management System (CRMS). This online web application with a database system will enable the police to keep records of arrested criminals, making record management more streamlined and efficient.
